The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who are leading the way in making the world a better place for us all and inspire other women to answer the call to take action.
“These exceptional women are here to awaken hearts, give permission to recapture dreams and inspire the women of the world to come together to forge a brighter path for all. The rising of women is the awakening of everybody'', said Dr Trent.

I am a social advocate for women and the vulnerable people. I am the author of ‘ The Art of Determination’, a literature book to inspire, educate and empower teenage girls and women on various aspects of life. In fact, the book is an all rounder in areas of inequalities and vulnerability. The vulnerable group in the book includes women; all women from all works of life, the immigrant women, the girl child, and women from low- socioeconomic background.
This literature book has many themes, from educating women to get education and to leverage and forge starting businesses to be financially independent, to educating women on signs of abuse; be it from husbands, employer or other women. This book also explores and provokes issues which affect women to bring awareness to the life experiences that affects women.
To find solutions to our problems we must be able to recognize them and point them out then navigate our way forward to create change. A lot can definitely be learnt from this literature book; that as individuals we may not be able to create the change, however ‘we’ the people, if we work together in groups, communities and globally then ‘We Can’ tackle the issues that affect women with impact. The spirit of ‘UBUNTU’ is indeed paramount to work collectively to create the change globally.
Why is your work special or unique?
Women are marginalized, women are vulnerable; women are abused, women are victimized, women do not have fair wages. The list is endless; thus we need to bring awareness to the issues that affect us; the social injustices that affect women, the health inequities that affect the migrant women, social and political inequities that women encounter in day to day lives are critical issues which needs urgent attention. Undeniably, it is these social injustices that leads to health inequities, abuse, and marginalization due to the differences in political and social demographics. All the above themes are critically explored and examined in the book. The book brings awareness as well as educates and it is empowering. The aim which is to create global change on women’s lives.
The Art of Determination literature book is therefore special as it touches all the above themes with a sense of humour, in a fiction way yet exploring and navigating ways to find solutions to create change.
Dr Trent’s vision for these awards is to empower women everywhere to reclaim their sacred dreams and call in women across the globe to unite and pave the way towards a better future for all.
It can be challenging to create change in the world however man and women must work towards making a difference on people's lives. We have to work collectively, men and women together ‘Individualism makes you who you are as a human, but to be humane we need the spirit of ‘Ubuntu’. We indeed need to work collectively to change the world for women; and to contribute to creating change for women, as individuals at national level and globally for all women and girls.
Chido Taruvinga is committed to continue making an impact through her work and her vision for the future is to see a society which is socially, financially, and economically equitable.
